4th Year CaSB: Bioinformatics Track, Biomedical Research Minor
Hi everyone~! My name is Sunlan Lu, and I’m a fourth-year CaSB major pursuing the Bioinformatics track and minoring in Biomedical Research. I joined CBS to foster a deeper connection between UCLA students and faculty who are interested in exploring the intersection of computer science, data science, and biomedical technology. Outside of CBS, I’m a UCLA Campus Tour Guide, a member of UCLA’s Pre-Professional Pre-Health Fraternity Delta Epsilon Mu, and a research assistant within the Kornblum Lab. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano and creating playlists, reading, exploring the city with my friends, and going on night drives.

Hi guys, my name's Ben, and I was previously the events directory and am currently the internal director for CBS. I'm currently in the Church lab researching bidirectional interactions between the brain and the gut in shaping health and disease. I enjoy pickling and boulders whenever I'm free and am looking to join a run club soon!

Hello! My name is Joanna Rhim, and I am a third-year CaSB major in the Biological Data Sciences track. I joined CaSB to explore computational approaches to solving biological problems, aspiring to create a supportive and connected environment for students interested in similar fields through CBS. Also, I hope to work in the biotechnology industry in the future. Outside of CBS, I am involved with the Undergraduate Science Journal at UCLA and CityLab, where I teach biotechnology to high school students. In my free time, I enjoy trying new foods around LA and exploring coffee shops for the best iced black coffee.
Joseph Lukas

4th Year CaSB: Biological Data Sciences Track, Statistics Double Major
Hi everyone! My name is Joseph Lukas, and I'm a fourth-year double major in CaSB (Biological Data Science track) and Stats & Data Science. I was originally a Chemistry major when entering UCLA, then quickly switched to Biochemistry just to take more lower division classes that applied to a lot of science majors. I've always been interested in CaSB, but I wasn't too sure if I enjoyed coding enough. After taking CS 30, I learned that I enjoyed coding enough and switched to CaSB. I added the Stats double major after figuring out that I wanted to get into more data analysis after participating in DataFest 2024. Outside of CBS, you can find me at the Hill Top Shop on the Hill! In my free time, I like taking buses to explore LA, night walks, deep conversations, and watching movies with my friends.

Hi everyone! My name is Jenna Jabourian, and I'm a fourth-year CaSB major in the Bioinformatics track minoring in Public Health. I majored in CaSB to better understand how computational tools are utilized to answer biological questions and found CBS to be a great resource for students in similar fields to connect. Outside of CBS, I'm also a student researcher in the Xia Yang Lab. For fun, I love gardening, taking geography quizzes, and going on walks!

Hi! My name is Lipi Goel, I joined CaSB because I liked biology and CS in high school and wanted to do something to combine the two. Along with CBS, I’m also an intern for the Daily Bruin’s data journalism team. In my free time, I like exploring LA with my friends, going on walks, trying new restaurants, and reading!
